Calmness of the Mind

“Calmness of the mind is one of the beautiful jewels of wisdom.”

~James Allen

Calmness of the Mind

Calmness of the Mind.  What is the currency in your spiritual bank account?  By adding consciousness, calmness and integrity- you build a fortune in the richness of your soul.

In spiritual terms, this calmness helps to channel the life force energy into positive and productive use.   When we flow with the beingness of life- we instill a deep sense of calm that runs very deep. This will help to override the chatter of the brain and the busy-ness of the body.

Pause for a moment.  Feel the current of energy as it courses through your body.  Ask yourself these questions:

How calm is your mind?

How often do you find yourself ruminating over different events in your life, and how do you break the cycle?

What does calmness of the mind feel like?

Certainly, by now- we know the benefits of mindfulness and meditation but how often do we put these things off until a future event?

How often do you forego a walk in nature, play with your kids or a sit down with a cup of tea and a chat with a friend because you are too busy?  In financial terms we speak of preservation of capital.  Well, how is it that you preserve your life force energy and keep it flowing and moving?  It is when we are stuck and determined to keep running on empty that depletes us even more.  Honor your body and your needs in any given moment.  Even if it learning how to say no, or to say “this is what I need for me, right now.”  The more people are willing to stand up for what is right, what is fair, and what is balanced will help to tip the scales in a more favorable direction.  Make your choice to be more conscious in everyday life- and be witness to the process.  Stand up for what you believe and speak up for what is good and fair to all parties.  Choose to speak with your money by purchasing products that help the greater good, are handmade or are mindfully produced and are meaningful.  Enjoy the treasures and the jewels within.

Here’s to a more balanced life and a calmer mind!

Thanks for this reminder, Cathy.

When I listen to my needs, my energy is restored and I feel balanced and refreshed, ready to handle life outside of myself again.

I need to do it more consistently!

Step INTO Your Power

June 15, 2021

"It's Your Time. Step Into Your Power."

The time is right, and it's right now.
True story:
When I was young, I was a people pleaser. I stayed quiet in most situations, and I did not speak my truth. Although I wanted to be bold and daring, I constantly gave away my power- to keep the peace.
Even as a young adult, navigating my way through the corporate world and new relationships, I found myself firmly entrenched in old patterns.
"keep quiet, don't make waves, lay low, operate under the radar"
I thought these behaviors kept me safe, but really it only served to tamp down my authentic voice and not live to my full potential.
Fast forward to now: As a spiritual seeker; and empowerment coach for many years, I have done massive amounts of work on myself.
The "work" still continues.

“Slow down, do small things with great LOVE!”

I recently taught a virtual workshop* and the sentence above was how I closed out the class.... It's so impactful, I'll say it again.
"Slow down, do small things with great LOVE."
I think it's a great reminder to us all. It helps us to put our lives in perspective, and to recognize that the illusion of "busy-ness" and almost requires us to live in the present moment.
